Here I go.......

I have decided to begin blogging, but I think I have alot to learn. My daughter in law, Marianne has made one for their family, and I really enjoy it. I look at it everyday, in hopes of seeing a new picture of our grandkids, and finding out what is going on at their house. She's really good at it, and I enjoy reading it.

Today I got up early for me...8am. You see, when you retire, you get to set your own schedule, at least to some extent. I am a night owl, and you will even see that this is being written during the early morning hours. But tonight, sometime in the middle of the night, daylight savings time ends and we gain an hour, so I'm not up as late as it seems. But I do have to set my alarm tonight because we need to be at church by 9am for Sunday School.

I made a couple salads today (actually yesterday) because we are going to some friends for dinner tomorrow and I volunteered to bring the salads. There are 3 families coming, it's part of a new program we are starting at church tomorrow. The first Sunday of the month for 3 months we are to meet with these families to eat and fellowship. We are calling it the "3x3 meet and eat." I don't think we do enough of that anymore, so I am really looking forward to it. We have sensed that we need a closer sense of community in our church, and this is what we are doing to bring us together in small groups. I'll let you know how it goes.....
